Toyota unleashes Camry S-Edition in Russia

MANILA: The eighth-generation model of the Toyota Camry was one of the most anticipated and awaited cars in the automobile space until it, at last, made out of the production facilities and hit the roads around the globe. Building on the success and to offers the fanatics with a little more oomph, especially in Russia, Toyota has just launched a special edition of the D-segment sedan in the country in the form Camry S-Edition.

So, what makes the Russian Toyota Camry S-Edition special? For starters, the exterior of the sedan features LED headlamps, LED tail lamps with black accents, new 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and contrasting black accents continuing to the front grille, door side mouldings, side mirror caps, and boot lid spoiler. Moreover, the front and rear bumpers also flaunt a red trim at the bottom for a sporty and muscular appearance. The available color options include a black finish and a two-tone scheme with pearl white being the dominant color.

On the inside, we find the Toyota Camry S-Edition featuring red accents all-around the cabin alongside contrasting red stitching on the seats. Moving, being a car from 2020, the Camry S-Edition gets various creature comforts like eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, Smart Entry keyless with push-button start/stop, heated seats & steering wheel, and a rear-view camera with dynamic guidelines. Also, present inside the Toyota Camry S-Edition is an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Toyota Touch 2, wireless smartphone charger, and a JBL sound system. Toyota recently announced that all new Camrys in Russia will now come equipped with T-Mark anti-theft identifier.

Under the hood of the Toyota Camry S-Edition is a 2.5-litre motor churning out 181 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 231 Nm. The ample power is then channelled to the wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. Being a Toyota car, the Camry S-Edition, just like a regular Camry, is safe as a house thanks to the presence of Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 that brings along various high-end safety features like AEB with pedestrian recognition, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning, and automatic high beam. Toyota has priced the Camry S-Edition is priced at 2,104,000 rubles, which translates to around Php 1,683,275. Quite a steal, ha?
