VinFast to enter Qatar by Q3 2024

MANILA: Months after VinFast’s launch in the Philippines, the Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) specialist is now set to enter Qatar through the distributorship of Al Mana Holding W.L.L.

VinFast Auto Limited shared the aforementioned development after it signed an agreement with the Qatari conglomerate. It likewise disclosed the establishment of its inaugural dealership in Doha City, which is planned to open its doors in the third quarter (July-September) of 2024. 

“The agreement with Al Mana Holding W.L.L. marks an important milestone in VinFast’s global market expansion strategy, and specifically, our entry into the Middle East. We are confident that Al Mana Holding’s reputation, expertise and market knowledge will enable us to quickly deliver premium products and services to Qatari customers,” Chief Executive Officer of VinFast Middle East Ta Xuan Hien said. 

Notably, the Vietnamese marque’s continued global expansion is underpinned by its switch from a direct sales model to a hybrid model designed to leverage existing global dealer networks. 

To further explain, a direct sales model is a business structure wherein a brand sells products to consumers without a distributor. The aforementioned is similar to what Tesla has been doing for its EV products. 

Previously, VinFast likewise expanded its global reach by opening a new dealership in the Sultanate of Oman in partnership with Bahwan Automobiles and Trading LLC. 

Currently, the carmaker’s key markets include the United States, Canada, and Europe. It is also working on growing its reach in India, Indonesia, Thailand, the Middle East, and the Philippines. 

In the Philippine market, the brand has already opened VinFast EDSA, VinFast Alabang, and VinFast Aseana. Available from all three outlets are the VF 5, VF 7, and VF 9.
