VinFast to share more details about VF Wild Concept 'soon'

Nha Trang:  VinFast's pick-up truck concept—which will likely be the marque’s first-ever four-wheel-drive model—might be coming into reality soon.

Although no timeline was given regarding the manufacturing of the VF Wild Concept, VinFast Executive Technical Advisor Devarajan Ranganathan told Zigwheels Philippines in an interview that more developments about the vehicle will likely be released towards the end of 2026.

According to him, the aesthetics of the concept vehicle—which was first seen at CES 2024—is expected to be retained. Other pertinent details like the powertrain and key technologies have yet to be divulged.

Should this be officially released and introduced in the Philippine market immediately, the vehicle will compete against the likes of the BYD Shark 6 DMO and the Changan Hunter REEV —both slapped with internal combustion engines and possibly, the electric version of the Toyota Hilux (which is expected to arrive in the country this year).

Specifications, speculations

Carrying the “Fluid Dynamism” design language inspired by the flowing motion of a superhero cape in the wind, the VF Wild Concept was co-developed by VinFast and Australian design studio GoMotiv.

Per VinFast, the concept’s name represents “the force of nature” and embodies the brand’s “ethos of breaking boundaries to venture beyond” while highlighting its ongoing commitment toward a green future for everyone.

This vehicle model is expected to be 5,324 millimeters (mm) long, and 1,997 mm wide. Its power-folding mid-gate and automatically-folding rear seats can give would-be customers class-leading bed size that can expand from 1,524 to 2,438 mm.

Other creature comforts that will likely be included in the production version of the VinFast VF Wild could be a panoramic glass roof and digital side mirrors.

While no powertrain specifications have been officially declared at the time of posting, Zigwheels Philippines is toying with the possibility that the VinFast VF Wild might take advantage of the dual-motor system already found in the VF8 and VF9. To note, these two models are both in all-wheel-drive format.
