Vingroup subsidiaries release more than P50M aid to Mindanao quake-hit areas

MANILA:  VinFast, V-Green, VinEnergo, and Green GSM have collectively allocated more than P50 million to the communities affected by the 7.8- magnitude earthquake that recently hit Mindanao.

In a statement, Vingroup shared that the aforementioned subsidiaries put up the emergency relief program to support local authorities and communities in the hardest-hit areas, “contributing to disaster recovery efforts and helping affected communities restore normal life as quickly as possible.” 

The support program will be rolled out throughout the month.

Under this initiative, both General Santos City and Sarangani Province will have P20 million each, while Davao Occidental will receive P10 million to boost recovery and community rehabilitation efforts on the said regions.

Aside from the assistance given to local government units of the three provinces, the Haiphong-headquartered firms will also give direct support to families who lost loved ones in the disaster, with financial assistance of P100,000 for each fatality.

 “The losses suffered by the people of Mindanao as a result of this earthquake are immense. During challenging times like these, we believe that the collective efforts of businesses and communities can help provide additional resources, hope, and encouragement for those affected,” Vingroup Director of Investment and External Relations in the Philippines Dao Quy Phi was quoted as saying.

“As Vietnamese companies with long-term investments and operations in the Philippines, we are committed to standing alongside local authorities and communities in the recovery process, supporting efforts to rebuild lives and strengthen affected communities,” he added.
