Waiting for the 2020 Geely Coolray? Keep Php 1.198 million handy

MANILA: Geely, one of the largest Chinese automobile producers, is all set to make a comeback to the Philippines. It will be the Sojitz G Auto Philippines who will run Geely operations in the country, including everything from sales to after sales services of Geely cars. Last week, we came to know that the first Geely car going to mark the comeback of the Chinese automaker to the Philippines will be the Geely Coolray. Latest developments reveal that the Filipinos will have to shell out Php 1,198,000 for the range-topping model of the Chinese crossover.

In case you are looking forward to getting yourself a crossover shortly, visit the UP Town Center or Uptown Mall in BGC and you can have a closer look at the soon launching Geely Coolray. Also, if you find the Chinese crossover ticking all the boxes, the automaker is accepting early bookings as well. Geely has put the Sport Line variant of the crossover for display and it will be there until September. Other lower-end variants of the 2020 Geely Coolray will make their way to the Philippines very soon.

For the people who are still unfamiliar with the crossover, the 2020 Geely Coolray gets the BMA platform and stands at 4,330 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, and 1,609 mm tall. Moreover, the wheelbase of the rival of the likes of Ford EcoSport, Honda HR-V, and Hyundai Kona measures 2,600 mm.

Inside of the Coolray are soft-touch trim pieces, seven-inch LCD instrument cluster, and an infotainment system that gets a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen. Geely claims that the interior of the Coolray takes inspiration from the "Star Wars". On the outside, we find LED projector-type headlamps with LED DRLs, slim wrap-around LED taillamps, and blacked-out A, B, and C-pillars.

Powering the 2020 Geely Coolray is a 1.5-litre turbo-charged four-pot mill that makes 174 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 255 Nm. This engine comes mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The likes of multiple SRS airbags, ABS with EBD & BA, electronic stability control, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian recognition, blind spot detection, tyre temperature & pressure monitoring, automated park assist, and a 360-degree view camera make sure that occupants inside the 2020 Geely Coolray are always safe. So, for Php 1,198,000, will you take home the Geely Coolray or still prefer other prominent offerings like Hyundai Kona, Honda HR-V, and Ford EcoSport?
