Honda PH refreshes ADV160

MANILA: Honda Philippines Incorporated has launched the refreshed ADV160 dual sport automatic scooter.

Per the local arm of the Japanese marque's motorcycle division, the updated Honda ADV160 is touted with the lifestyle-driven concept “The SUV (sport utility vehicle) Pride,” with the motorcycle offering features for daily commutes and leisure rides.

“Today, we mark another important event, as we officially launch the latest version of ADV160, a model that has become a symbol of strength, confidence, and adventure on the road. Known for its bold design and commanding presence, the ADV160 embodies what we proudly call ‘The SUV Pride,’” Honda Philippines Incorporated President Takeshi Kobayashi was quoted as saying.

Fit, finish

The body of the updated Honda ADV160 bears striking similarities to the outgoing model, but sports improvements that help it achieve distinctness and aerodynamic stability via side fairings with air vents.

Rugged, yet refined appearance is maintained through chunky body panels and LED illumination. Also helping establish its almost go-anywhere attitude is the high windshield, angular side mirrors, and beefy tires that help it achieve a ground clearance of 165 millimeters.

It is available in five colors, with the Matte Saber Green Metallic, Pear Fadeless White, and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic options available for the base ABS-type trim.

The range-topping RoadSync-type is sold with Quartz Brown Metallic and Matte Pearl Crater White hues.

Powertrain, chassis

In betwixt the rider’s thighs is a 157 cubic-centimeter gasoline-fed engine mated to an automatic (V-Matic) transmission.

The said setup is able to generate up to 15.8 horsepower and 14.7 Newton-meters of torque.

Stopping power comes from hydraulic disc brakes, front and back. Meanwhile, the suspension system for the updated Honda ADV160 is facilitated by a telescopic fork at the fore and twin shock absorbers with subtanks at the rear.

Technologies

The refreshed Honda ADV160 comes rich with new technologies, the most notable of which comes from the Honda RoadSync.

Honda RoadSync is the company’s proprietary system for smartphone connectivity, allowing riders to enjoy integration of calls, messages, navigation, and music to their journeys.

Also noteworthy is its new five-inch thin-film transistor instrument cluster, as well as the new “smart top box” that can be operated by the sport and adventure scooter’s smart key system. The top box comes in as a genuine accessory for the Honda ADV160 and can be purchased straight from the dealership.

Pricing

The new Honda ADV160 is available in two grades: ABS-type and RoadSync-type. They are priced at P167,400 and P174,900, respectively.

According to Honda Philippines Incorporated, the latest version of the mid-size scoot will be available in all Honda 3S shops and authorized dealers nationwide starting February 2. On the other hand, the top box will hit stores sometime in May.
