Honda PH to retire RS125

MANILA: Honda Philippines Incorporated (HPI) is set to trim down its Cub lineup as it bids farewell to the ageing RS125—but not without a proper sendoff.

The Japanese motorcycle marque’s local arm will carry the nameplate (or at least its carburetor-type version) until March 2028—around two years before saying goodbye to its followers.

Following such a development, HPI introduced the nameplate’s “Final Edition,” which will have 20,000 units sold in the market. This, the company shared in a statement, commemorates the model’s “enduring legacy and contribution to motorcycle mobility in the Philippines.”

Will the Final Edition be the Honda RS125’s “swan song,” or will it just serve as the starting point for a fuel-injected powertrain version? While waiting for a concrete answer from the Japanese marque's local motorcycle arm, here’s what the newly released version offers to its buyers.

To make the model distinct from the standard version, the Honda RS125 Final Edition features a new stealth stripe design with sharp graphics wrapping the bodywork—bearing the exclusive "Final Edition" signature.

Complementing this design are the unified headlight and visor, a sporty front fender, and a sharp taillight.

Other features that can be found on the Honda RS125 Final Edition are:

• Dual view meter panel
• Covered muffler
• Comfortable seat cushion pillion step
• Underseat utility box

Powering the Honda RS125 Final Edition is the reliable potent 125-cubic centimeter engine.

Priced at P77,000, the RS125 Final Edition is available in two color options: Matte Axis Gray Metallic and Pearl Sylvestris Gray. This offering has been available in Honda exclusive shops since September 14.
