LTO issues cease-and-desist order vs BOSS Ironman Challenge

MANILA: The BOSS (BMW Owners Society of Safe Riders) Ironman Motorcycle Challenge are no longer allowed to conduct similar activities in the future following the series of incidents that occurred in Davao earlier this year.

In a recent statement posted over its social media page, the agency shared that a cease-and-desist order was given to the event organizers — preventing the latter from repeating similar actions going forward. 

Per LTO, the result of the investigations “are part of the agency's strict enforcement of traffic laws to ensure order and safety on the roads.”

The case was resolved by the Land Transportation Office (LTO)—Intelligence and Investigation Division.

In resolving the case involving participants and organizer of the Boss Ironman Challenge Mindanao Cup 2026, a total of 32 individuals received their respective show cause orders (SCO). Following the probe, 17 of those who took part in the event were sternly warned, 14 were suspended for three months, and one was disqualified from acquiring a driver's license.

 

Among the violations that were proven in the LTO investigation were speeding, reckless driving, and improper overtaking — all of which endanger public safety. Additionally, decisions were also made against those who did not appear during scheduled hearings.

Prior to the penalties being slapped against them, those who were involved in the event were also given a 90-day license suspension pending the completion of the ongoing investigation.
