Yamaha Nmax 155 Tech Max receives Red Dot Award 2025 for Product Design

MANILA: The Yamaha Nmax 155 Tech Max has won this year's Red Dot Award for Product Design. 

The aforementioned accolade for the scooter model’s latest iteration marks the 14th consecutive year a Yamaha Motor Corporation Limited product has clinched the said award. 

According to the Japanese motorcycle company, the scooter model is noteworthy for its ergonomic layout, combined with its ability to provide a sporty ride. Yamaha likewise headlined the nameplate’s characteristic as a “sport scooter aptly sized to fit the human body.”

Additionally, the company touted the Nmax Tech Max’s styling as it was able to condense the familiar but impactful design cues of its larger Max Series siblings. The aforementioned were achieved via the brand’s new thin-film transistor (TFT) instrument cluster and the model’s small but capable front and rear LED lighting fixtures.

Philippine-spec Yamaha Nmax 155 Tech Max

To note, the specific model that received the Red Dot Award 2025 for Product Design currently stands as the Yamaha Nmax’s top-spec trim in the Philippine market. As of this writing, the Yamaha Nmax 155 Tech Max retails at P175,900. 

Propelling the model is a 155-cubic-centimeter four-stroke, single-cylinder, overhead cam engine. On paper, the said mill has the following maximum power and torque outputs:

To further optimize power delivery, the model was kitted out with the Yamaha Electronic Continuously Variable Transmission (YECVT). It also received “Sport” and “Touring” drive modes, a three-level downshift control feature, and a rear sub-tank suspension system.

For extra convenience, the Yamaha Nmax 155 Tech Max also boasts a 4.2-inch TFT instrument cluster that is able to handle navigation (via Garmin Street Cross) and smartphone notifications. 

Also available on the top-spec Nmax is a two-level ergonomic maxi-style seat, dual-channel anti-lock braking, a start-stop system, 25-liter underseat storage, a USB Type-C port, and front and rear disc brakes. 

According to on-road tests performed by Zigwheels Philippines, the Yamaha Nmax 155 Tech Max can achieve a fuel economy of up to 33.7 kilometers per liter during aggressive riding.
