As an affordable first EV, I purchased the FAW Pony, and even after eight months, it keeps on surprising me in good ways. It does what is mostly needed by urban buyers: daily commutes, quiet drives, and short errands. The claimed 170 km range and 13.9 kWh battery match my real-world usage requirements. With some AC use and a mix of traffic, I easily get around 140–160 km, which is enough for my week of two medium weekend runs and city trips before charging. Off the line, the Pony feels eager and zippy.
