Hongqi EHS7

Upon entering the Hongqi EHS7, you are welcomed by a luxurious cabin, which offers a nice blend of woodgrain trims and premium leather finishes. Its leather seats comfortably hug your body even on long trips. You have plenty of room for five inside the cabin and a generous cargo space at the back. And, if the rear space is not enough, this SUV also comes with a decently-sized frunk underneath its hood.

Upfront, owners of the EHS7 are given a very driver-centric cockpit, which consists of a full-digital instrument panel, and a rectangular multi-control steering wheel wrapped in leather, which will take some getting used to (especially for older-gen drivers). Its twin motors are powered by a huge 111-kWh battery pack that offers a 540-km driving range. This trim can go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.9 seconds. 

Meanwhile, the base Executive runs on a single motor that produces 339 hp and 450 Nm of torque. Its motor is powered by an 85-kWh battery that offers a 475-km driving range. Both battery packs support a fast charging time of 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes. Both variants come mated to a single-speed automatic transmission system. The Flagship trim showcases an all-wheel drive system, while the Executive utilizes a rear-wheel drivetrain.

Regardless of the powertrain, both trims are exceptionally quick and smooth off the line. Both trims are respectable high-speed cruisers and capable out-of-town tourers. However, if you are aiming for a more exhilarating experience, then going for the Flagship variant is definitely a no-brainer. Even at high speeds, its cabin remains refined and peaceful thanks to its top-notch sound insulation system.

The Hongqi EHS7 is equipped with several advanced driver assistance systems such as blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera. In terms of braking, it utilizes front ventilated discs and rear discs. Its braking setup is also supported by an anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, vehicle stability control, and a brake assist among others.
