BYD Cars Philippines has entered the hotly contested multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) segment with the all-new eMAX 7. 

With its peppy all-electric powertrain and stylish good looks, the aforementioned model will surely catch the attention of modern families looking for an emissions-free three-row daily driver. 

One of the BYD eMAX 7’s good qualities is its powertrain, which can deliver up to 201 horsepower (hp) for the top-spec Superior Captain, and 160 hp for the entry-level Standard. Both trims can also dish out 310 Newton-meters of torque. 

Additionally, the BYD MPV also offers a considerable amount of range. With the Superior Captain, the model can cover up to 530 kilometers (km) from a single full charge. The model also comes equipped with a fast direct current (DC) charging capability, which can top up its battery packs from 0 to 100 percent in just 30 minutes. 

As mentioned above, the BYD eMAX 7 also sports an attractively designed exterior. Its front end wears the sharp-looking front fascia that is prevalent on other BYD offerings. Plus, it comes kitted out  with 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels, power-folding side mirrors, LED exterior lighting, and roof rails - among others.

It is linked to a six-piece speaker system, and it comes with over-the-air updates, a voice assistant, 4G connectivity, and the BYD Cloud service.

For car buyers who want to fit as many people inside the eMAX 7, there’s the seven-seater Standard trim, which is equipped with a bench-style second row. The top-spec Superior Captain, meanwhile, can provide optimal comfort for its second row occupants. 

Concerning space, the eMAX 7 offers 180 liters with its third-row seats up. With its second and third row seats folded down, it can hold up to 835 liters of cargo.

With a price range of P1.498 million to P1.748 million, the BYD eMAX 7 offers a lot. It can fit the bill as a comfortable daily driver for families, a car for ferrying around executives, or even a personal daily driver with extra room to spare when you need it. 

Definitely, it counts as one of the better-equipped MPVs you can buy in the market right now, especially when you consider its host of ADAS features and its all-electric powertrain. 

Would-be buyers of the BYD eMAX 7, however, should consider giving it a test drive first. It is attractive on paper, sure. But having seat time with the nameplate will make for a more informed buying decision in the end.
