Some interesting facts about the upcoming Lamborghini Urus - The Go Anywhere Lambo

Lamborghini LM002 production came to a halt 25 years ago and since then, the Italian automaker is doing what makes it one of the bests, producing outrageous sports cars. Considering the increasing demand for premium SUVs, Lamborghini again started working on its SUV lineup, the first to enter global market being Urus. As we are heading close to the official debut of the upcoming SUV from Lamborghini, here we are with some interesting facts about the Urus.

Lamborghini Urus Concept

  1. First Lamborghini With A Turbocharged Engine

This is the first time that Lamborghini has developed a turbocharged engine for its model. The upcoming Urus will be powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that has a potential to pump out the maximum power of 641 hp with power being transmitted to all the four wheels of the SUV. This is also the first time in 54 years that Lamborghini has ditched naturally aspirated engines over a turbocharged engine

  2. Based On MQB EVO Platform

Although there is an exclusive engine developed for the SUV, the platform on which it is developed is the same MQB EVO, which is also a part of many VW group’s models like Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q7, and Bentley Bentayga.

  3. It Will Be Fast

When it is Lamborghini, you don’t need to worry about its agility. Fast and Lamborghini are synonymous with each other and Urus is no exception. The Italian automaker is also eying to break the Nurburgring record set by Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, with a lap time of 7:51.7. The manufacturer claims that the upcoming SUV will be having a top speed of 300 kmph, which will make it the fastest SUV in the world, the tag which is currently in possession with Bentley Bentayga.

  4. Six Driving Modes"

    Urus Concept Rear

Usually, Lamborghini’s come with three driving modes: Strada (street), Corsa (Track) and Sport. But, the upcoming Urus will be offered with six driving modes with off-roading capabilities. The list of modes includes Sabbia (Sand), Terra (Gravel) and Neve (Snow) along with the standard modes.

  5. Hybrid Version On The Cards

As VW group is planning to upgrade its lineup to all-electric, the outrageous SUV will be also offered in a plug-in hybrid version. The exact information about the hybrid powertrain is yet not revealed by the automaker as it will be introduced at a later stage of the SUV’s life cycle. However, the hybrid variant will be more focused towards fuel efficiency over performance figures and that might be heart wrecking for some of the Lamborghini’s fans.

Let’s see what Lamborghini offers on December 4 in the form of Urus. We are really excited about this upcoming SUV, do let us know about your queries in the comment section. Till then stay tuned to Carbay for latest updates of the auto world across the globe.
