Volvo Philippines recently brought in its Recharge lineup in the country, offering fully electric vehicles (EV) that deliver impressive performance and luxury for its discerning customers.

The two models — the Volvo XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge — are based on the brand’s compact modular architecture with all-wheel drive twin-motor powertrain. Both EVs give impressive ranges — 537 kilometers (km) for the XC40 Recharge and 549 km for the C40 Recharge.

Volvo offers these luxury EVs at P3.99 million for the XC40 Recharge and P4.19 million for the C40 Recharge.

With its powerful yet efficient performance and premium features, Volvo’s all-electric models will definitely capture the attention of those looking for a luxurious yet eco-friendly ride. However, in a competitive market, it is essential to explore the alternatives and compare the XC40 and C40 Recharge with their top competitors.

BMW iX3

Retailing for P4.59 million, the BMW iX3 falls under the same price range as the Volvo C40 Recharge.

Both the Volvo C40 Recharge and BMW iX3 offer impressive features and technology, making them suitable choices for environmentally-conscious individuals seeking luxury and performance. The BMW iX3 showcases a more traditional SUV appearance with refined touches.

In terms of powertrain, the iX3 comes with a single motor mounted at the rear. When it comes to range, both cars fare well, but the C40 Recharge has a higher range compared to the iX3's 460 km.

Kia EV6

Priced at P3.788 million, the Kia EV6 is one of the strongest competitors of the Volvo XC40 Recharge.

Both models offer impressive range and performance. The Kia EV6 also comes with innovative charging capabilities, allowing up to over 500 km of range on a single charge.

Hyundai Ioniq 5

Another competitor of the Volvo XC40 Recharge is the Hyundai Ioniq 5 Long Range 2WD, which retails for P3.698 million.

Compared to the Volvo XC40 Recharge, this Ioniq 5 variant offers a shorter range of up to 450 km.

Both vehicles feature cutting-edge technology such as advanced driver assistance systems and sleek interior designs. However, the XC40 Recharge takes a step ahead with its luxurious finishes and premium materials, providing an upscale driving experience.

One of the notable features of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is the vehicle-to-load technology, which allows users to store and convert energy to power various electronic equipment.
