Mazda Philippines officially launched the 2022 MX-5 last week. The all-new MX-5 features new color and trim options, as well as improvements on handling designed to make driving even more pleasurable, comfortable, and connected.

    For a more personalized touch, the fabric for the Soft-Top MX-5 can be selected in either Black or Dark Cherry colors. For those who prefer the RF body style, there will be a body colored and black roof options for automatic variants, and a black roof option for manual variants.

    The MX-5 Club Edition is now available in Soft-Top form. The 2022 Soft-Top MX-5 Club Edition will also have the exclusive line’s signature Recaro sport bucket seats and lightweight 17-inch Dark Finish BBS forged wheels. Bilstein sports dampers are fitted on the manual variants of MX-5 Soft Top and RF for a more dynamic drive.

    Aside from the standard black leather finish in the two-seat roadster, the new terracotta nappa leather seats are also available as a customer option for the 2022 MX-5. The new high-quality leather interiors have a vibrant, rich brown tone that creates a warmer and more finely appointed cabin that will further calm both the driver and the passenger’s senses.

    The 2022 MX-5 reaches an even greater degree of timeless quality and craftsmanship with its exquisite contrast stitching in the seats, door panels, steering wheel, hand brake, and gear levers.

    The 2022 MX-5 will also be available in a new body color, Platinum Quartz Metallic. It has a silky white finish with a translucency similar to quartz. The new color gives the vehicle a newfound sense of refinement and style, allowing it to stand out even more while remaining polished and unique.

    The MX-5 is designed to be driven again and again. It continues to elicit smiles and foster delight and satisfaction each time behind the wheel, thanks to its light and responsive throttle, intuitive handling, and one-of-a-kind top-down driving experience.

    The 2022 MX-5 also comes with the kinematic posture control (KPC), which provides an even stronger sense of unity between the car and the driver. The MX-5 is the only vehicle with this innovative technology. Even while cornering at high speed, it gives a more stable turning posture without adding a single gram to the car’s weight.

    KPC enhances the MX-5’s driving capabilities by adding a slight braking force on the inner rear wheel under high G-force cornering. This is combined with the vehicle’s rear suspension, which is designed to produce an “anti-lift” force that pulls the car’s body down when the brakes are applied. As a result, both the driver and the passenger’s postures are maintained. The MX-5 also has superior grip on the road since it has less body roll.

    This enhanced stabilization effect provided by KPC is most noticeable in tight corners and uneven roads. KPC protects the vehicle’s body from lifting in high-speed cornering scenarios. The driver may accelerate with even more confidence, thanks to the better sense of connection to the ground provided by KPC.

    KPC can detect turning conditions in real time. It determines the difference in speed between the left and right rear wheels and adjusts the posture stabilizing effect gradually and smoothly. When the drive becomes more difficult, the MX-5’s rear end sharpens as it intelligently adapts its turning posture.

    The MX-5 is powered by a 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine that churns out 184ps and 205Nm of torque. The highly efficient engine delivers the same responsiveness and low fuel consumption that have earned the MX-5 its reputation as a fun-to-drive car.

    To further boost the driver’s confidence and safety on the road, the MX-5 also comes with i-Activsense Safety Technologies such as adaptive LED headlamps, smart city brake support, and lane departure warning. It is also equipped with dual front and side airbags.

    Every order through the Build Your MX-5 online portal comes with the Mazda Philippines Five-Year Free Service Plan, which covers the costs of periodic maintenance at six-month or 10,000-km intervals for up to five years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first.

    Every purchase also comes with a three-year bumper-to-bumper warranty.
