2017 Honda Civic Hatch Spotted Doing Rounds in European Alps
MANILA: Here's another update on the soon to be launched 2017 Civic hatch, yes the one we don't have in the Philippines market and for which we all are waiting desperately. Well, the younger sibling looks very similar to its recently launched big-brother the 2016 Honda Civic sedan, that has taken not only the Philippines but the entire auto industry by storm since its launch and from even before .
But before starting on with Civic hatch specs and its designing detailing, let's first have a look at the journey of this 10th generation Civic hatchback -
1.It was in March this year at 2016 Geneva International Motor Show that Honda revealed a prototype of Civic hatchback.
2. This was shortly followed by patent images of the production version of the hatch that looked highly similar to the prototype.
3. As for the present day, the hatch version of Civic was seen doing testing rounds in the European Alps.
4. The prepping rounds at the Alps is hitting towards its soon to happen global debut of the car at 2016 Paris Motor Show.
Now it's time to inspect the camouflaged pictures of the next-generation Honda Civic Hatchback and see what all features are carried forward from its sedan sibling and which parts of it look similar to the Geneva showcased prototype.
- Starting from its front profile, the Civic hatch 2017 seems to replicate the design language of its sedan sibling that before gracing the Philippines land rested on the Indonesian shores and was also showcased at the 37th Bangkok International Motor Show.
- The visible sharp wrap-around headlamps and grills outlining looked similar to that of the prototype and patent images.
- The rear portion with the C-shaped taillight and twin rear spoiler looks way too similar to the Geneva debut prototype.
- As for the dimensions, being a hatchback, the car showcases similar wheelbase but shorter overhangs when compared to its sedan version.
- Under the hood configuration of the all-new Civic hatch differs slightly from its sedan cousin and as per reports the hatch will be offered in as many as 3 engine options. First will be a brand new 130 PS generating 1.0L mill that will be powering the base variant, next-in-line is a 1.5L turbo mill seen in the sedan as well, producing decent output of 170 PS and 220 Nm respectively. Lastly, a 1.6L i-DTEC turbodiesel mill is also reported to feature in the European-spec.
- As reported earlier, all-new Civic hatchback will feature the highly awaited six -speed manual transmission along with a CVT unit.
That's all for now on Honda Civic hatchback front and now all we have to do is just have to wait for October when the car will make its global debut at Paris.
