2019 BH Auction to have some of the coolest cars on Earth
MANILA: Japan’s car enthusiasts are going to see a completely different car auction this year. The Tokyo Auto Salon will host the world famous car auction, the BH Auction in the coolest manner one might have seen till date. Fifty rare vehicles are set to be auctioned this year at the event.
However, although there are just 50 cars on auction, the worth of these cars will blow your mind. These 50 cars are the rarest of the rare and the entire collection is very exotic. The BH Auction will be taking place on the very first day of the 2019 Tokyo Auto Salon which will be starting on January 11. Based on the news pertaining to the auction, there is no doubt that BH Auction is a way of celebrating Nissan’s completion of 50 years in the industry. So, it’s quite apparent that the company has a larger role in the auction.
The interesting news is that this BH Auction has listed some of these rare vehicles that are usually not found at American auctions like Barrett Jackson and Gooding & Company. However, besides the Japanese automakers which make up most of the list, several other brands like BMW, Ferrari, Porsche and even Dodge are participating with at least one car.
The cars which are going up in the auction include:
Nissan Skyline: The Nissan Skyline is a compact executive car which was originally manufactured by Prince Motor Company way back in 1957. Following this, Prince Motor Company and Nissan merged in 1967 where the latter took up the manufacturing of the car. It is available in a wide array of body types with the major ones being the sedan and coupe.
Porsche Carrera GT: The Porsche Carrera GT is a heritage from the premium supercar maker. The GT was planned to be a limited run model with 1,500 units. However, the changing airbags regulation forced the company to discontinue it mid-way in 2006, though 1,270 models were already sold by then.
Honda S800: The Honda S800 is a vintage sports car that made its way at the 1965 Tokyo Motor Show. It had a 791cc 4-cylinder engine that could churn out 70 hp of maximum power. Interestingly, it was also the company’s first car to cross the 100 mph (160 kmph) mark.
Mitsubishi Willys Jeep: This special model has quite a lot of history attracted to it. It is actually the Jeep CJ model manufactured by Willys-Overland. However, later, in 1853, Mitsubishi got a green signal to begin developing and selling the Jeep J3 as a direct rival to the contemporary Toyota Land Cruiser and Nissan Patrol.
There are also some other rare cars like an AMG-restored Mercedes-Benz 300SL, 2016 Porsche 911R, 2003 Dodge Viper Competition and the 1979 Ferrari 308 GTB. Besides these, the bidders can even get hold of the original 240Z 432 chassis. This year’s BH Auction is surely for the discerning customers who have a craze for collecting exotic vintage and out-of-the-road cars, albeit by spending an entire fortune on them.
