MANILA: The Honda BR-V is one of the popular choices for car buyers wanting a seven-seater multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). 

Not only did the Japanese carmaker update the styling of the second-generation model — which makes it look more like a sport utility vehicle (SUV) — but it also offers its customers a family car with the brand’s signature “fun-to-drive” character. 

On that note, we take a quick look at the five available hues for the Honda BR-V. 

Taffeta White 

White is a color often associated with safety, and the Honda BR-V’s Tafetta White paint best represents this aspect of automotive technology. 

Not only does the Honda BR-V get the company’s advanced driver assist system — Honda Sensing — but it also looks tamed and domesticated, making it a good choice for those looking for a new ride for the fam. 

Its standard safety features include the following:

Lunar Silver Metallic 

We typically link the color silver with technology and modernity. That said, the Honda BR-V — although touted as a mass-market model — still packs some decent onboard car niceties. 

Past its multi-functional steering wheel is an instrument cluster that combines both easy-to-read analog gauges, as well as a legible 4.2-inch digital display screen. The former is a display for the speedometer and tachometer, while the latter is useful for checking one’s odometer readings and other helpful driving information. 

It is complemented by a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Audio is sent to six speakers that offer ample sound quality for music and other streaming programs like podcasts. 

Surprisingly, even the entry-level Honda BR-V S variant is endowed with features not usually seen on base-level models, such as LED illumination, a keyless entry system, a reverse camera, and speed-sensitive door locks. 

Meteoroid Gray Metallic 

The Meteoroid Gray Metallic color on the Honda BR-V makes it look like a baby version of the CR-V, as it makes it appear more masculine and beefy compared to other MPVs on the market. After all, the nameplate is filed as a compact seven-seater SUV under the Land Transportation Office. 

Having said that, it is only proper to talk about the features that give the Honda BR-V some level of robustness. 

Supporting the vehicle’s frame is a MacPherson strut setup at the fore with a torsion beam arrangement at the rear. While the said suspension components appear rudimentary, they are known for being dependable and easy to maintain. 

Power to stop the vehicle at various speeds comes from ventilated disc brakes at the front and a pair of drum brakes at the back. A manual hand brake is also available for that tactile feeling many drivers who learned to drive using 90s cars enjoy. 

Capacity-wise, the Honda BR-V is able to accommodate up to 530 liters with the third-row seats folded down. When the need to haul larger items arises, the vehicle is able to cater to 1,032 liters of cargo space with the second- and third-row seats folded.  

This makes it a versatile vehicle to have for families who like to go on spontaneous adventures. 

Sand Khaki Pearl 

The Sand Khaki Pearl color is a hue reserved only for the top-of-the-line variant. This adds some level of character to the MPV, great for those who want a family car with a capable, “tacticool” appeal. 

Speaking of capabilities, the Honda BR-V is powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine mated to a continuously variable transmission. This setup generates up to 119 horsepower and 145 Newton-meters of torque. 

While we are not given class-leading numbers, the Honda BR-V is known for having good power delivery with smooth acceleration in both leveled straightaways and uphill roads. 

Consumption-wise, it clocks in at 24.71 kilometers per liter based on a fuel economy run held by the brand, together with the Automobile Association of the Philippines in 2022.

Premium Opal White Silver 

Offering good looks, the Premium Opal White Silver paint makes the Honda BR-V look stylish and elegant. Available in the mid-range V and the range-topping model, those opting for the said color will enjoy some chrome accents on the door handles, as well as silver-colored garnishes on the front bumper, side sills, and rear bumper. 

For added style, owners can also dress up their rides with genuine accessories such as door handle protectors, an exhaust pipe finisher, door visors, front fender garnishes, a tailgate garnish, door mirror garnishes, a rear cargo tray, a seat back protector, and side step garnish covers. 

Final thoughts

The Honda BR-V is offered in three variants, with a price tag that starts from P1.165 million. Its colors cater to a wide range of customers with various design and style preferences.
