Power of Dreams: Macoy Dubs now owns an all-new Honda Prelude

MANILA: Shortly after announcing that its retail period has started, Macoy Dubs immediately added the all-new Honda Prelude to his garage.

Putting the Power of Dreams into his own reality, the online personality (Mark Averilla in real life) recently received the fifth-generation sports car after seeing it at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show.

“As a long-time Prelude enthusiast, this moment means everything to me. The passion and history of the nameplate have come full circle,” he mentioned in his social media post.

He also thanked Honda Cars Philippines Incorporated for the official turnover of his unit. The vehicle was purchased was at the brand’s Greenhills dealership.

A true car enthusiast, Averilla immediately installed several aftermarket components for his all-new Prelude prior to receiving the model The parts he acquired to achieve the Honda Access Sports Style build are:

• Berlina Black Door Mirror Covers
• Mugen Scuff Plates
• Mugen Trunk Tray
• Blitz Phone Holder
• Honda Access Side Sill Protectors

All other areas are still stock, but Zigwheels Philippines believes that it would not be long before Averilla puts on more goodies on his Mochi.

On paper, the vehicle is equipped with a 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle engine with the Honda e:HEV full hybrid system— the same powertrain found in the current Honda Civic can dish out:

Based on the certification from the Department of Energy, the model can do 25.6 kilometers per liter of gasoline equivalent.

Averilla will also be safe inside his all-new Prelude as it comes with the Honda SENSING suite of technologies namely:

Further, Averilla’s all-new Honda Prelude is finished in Moonlit White Pearl, which means his stock car’s price tag is P3.528 million (P3.498 million is the standard price plus an additional P30,000 for the exclusive body color option).

 Before buying the all-new Prelude, Averilla already owned the model’s 1993 version and while he already has the new one, he said that would keep the older version.
