2019 BMW Z4 production model mirrors the concept

MANILA: The German automaker BMW for a while now is teasing us with camouflaged images of the 2019 Z4. According to sources close to the company, the sports car would surface in the auto arena early next year. Earlier today, few patent images of the soon to arrive Z4 surfaced online. And from the look of it, one thing is confirmed that the company is sticking to the sports car concept is showcased at the last year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

The new-generation BMW Z4 would be officially launched in August at the Pebble Beach. Also, this new car would be decorating the BMW podium at the 2018 Paris Motor Show that is scheduled for October. Frankly speaking, we can’t wait to see the production model of the all-new Z4. However, until that happens, here are some details we expect to see in the car -

1. As both the patent and concept model of Z4 show striking resemblance, we expect the production-spec to boast a muscular silhouette with strong contour lines running across its length
2.The front profile would feature BMWs signature kidney grille that goes well with the swept back headlamps. The rear is expected to feature a boot lid spoiler and L-shaped LED tail lights
3.Though the patent images didn’t reveal anything about the cabin. However, looking at the concept, we get an idea of a blacked-out driver-centric cockpit with a heads-up display and horizontal digital display

4.Complementing the exterior, the interior would feature a bold color scheme
5.On the mechanical front, the 2019 Z4 might house turbo engines ranging from 2.0- to 3.0-litre
6.The transmission setup would either feature a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic system
8.An M Performance version in the future is also on the cards

Many are not aware, but the BMW Z4 shares parts with the soon to arrive Toyota Supra, a hybrid. We, therefore expect to see the 2019 Z4 with an additional hybrid powertrain with a four-wheel drive. The said sharing of parts is done under the two brands decision to co-develop a new sports car platform.

The all-new Z4 would surely not disappoint the auto critics, as can be predicted from the leaked patent images. However, the actual picture would be clear at this year’s Pebble Beach.
