BMW starts selling i5 eDrive40 units used in 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship

MANILA: After completing its role as the official premium mobility partner, BMW is now selling the dedicated fleet of i5 eDrive40 units used in the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB).

In a statement, SMC Asia Car Distributors Corporation said that the fleet of all-electric sedans, was able to fulfill its duty of allowing the global leaders of the sport experience “the pinnacle of sustainable mobility and comfort while navigating the event venues across the metro.”

To recall, the 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship was held in Manila last September 12-28.

"We were honored to support the 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship and showcase the capabilities of the BMW i5 eDrive40 to a global audience," SMC Asia Car Distributors Corporation President Jacob Ang said.

"Now, we are excited to pass on this experience to our clients, allowing them to drive a vehicle with a unique story at an exceptional price point,” he said.

To celebrate the partnership, BMW is releasing the units released with a significant price advantage by applying a P1.6-million slash to each example.

This initiative dropped the business sedan’s pricing to P4.29 million from the standard retail price of P5.89 million.

The European automaker’s distributor in the country noted that despite their role in the international event, the vehicles remain in pristine condition — sharing that the mileage across the fleet ranges only from 500-1,700 kilometers.

Further, the vehicles are available in limited quantities and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested clients are encouraged to check them out at the nearest authorized BMW dealership that includes:

• Autoallee BMW in Eton Centris
• RSA Motors Greenhills and Libis
• Pampanga Premier Cars BMW

Vehicle details

Up front, the premium electric vehicle — which made its debut in the Philippines in early 2024 — wears the modern interpretation of the BMW kidney grille that features a wide surround contour lighting — flanked by a pair of headlights with LED elements arranged almost vertically.

Complementing its aggressive look are the high shoulder line sharp lines that ensures an athletic stance, and the bi-color grey 19-inch aerodynamic wheels.

Greeting occupants as they step inside the car are sports seats, dashboard, door panels, and steering wheel wrapped in Veganza (a fully vegan textile).
