Let’s go over what the brands at PIMS showcased for the said event’s 10th iteration
MANILA: The 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), organized by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Incorporated (CAMPI), has recently concluded, and it featured an electrifying lineup of launches and a whole host of previews set to fuel the hype train for the local automotive industry for months to come.

BAIC
BAIC Philippines, a brand under the United Asia Automotive Group Incorporated (UAAGI), has made its PIMS debut. At the said event, the brand also announced its latest brand ambassadors: Benjie, Kobe, and Andre Paras.
Photo from BAIC Motor PhilippinesHighlighted at the brand’s booth was the B40e Trailmaster rEV - an off-road capable range-extended electric vehicle with a plug-in hybrid setup. The model can cover a total of 1,200 kilometers (km), while having an electric-only range of 152 km.

Chery
At the 10th PIMS, Chery Auto Philippines, another brand distributed by UAAGI, has debuted the all-new QEV all-electric hatchback. The model is now available for pre-orders with a suggested retail price of P1.12 million.
At maximum, the Chery QEV can cover up to 405 km from a single full charge. It also has fast-charging capabilities, advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS), and a 15.6-inch Ultra HD touchscreen infotainment display equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor.

Foton
Foton, another UAAGI marque, has introduced the 33-seater Coach EV all-electric bus at the 10th PIMS. The said bus model retails at P6.7 million, and it can produce up to 284 horsepower (hp). From a single full charge, the model can cover up to 350 km.

Honda
Honda unveiled its updated corporate logo and highlighted its electrified vehicle lineup at the 10th PIMS. The latest of these includes the all-new Prelude. Also making an appearance at the brand’s PIMS booth are the WN7 and UC3 all-electric motorcycles.

Isuzu
Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has showcased the updated D-Max. It is now open for reservations, although pricing details for the nameplate will be revealed in the near future.

Jetour
At the 10th PIMS, Jetour Auto Philippines, under the umbrella of UAAGI, has showcased its Lighting i-DM lineup of models. Likewise appearing at the car show is the Gaia G700 luxury sport utility vehicle (SUV).

Kia
Kia Philippines, under ACMobility, showcased its entire lineup of cars at the 10th PIMS. Moreover, Kia Philippines Managing Director Jose Marie Lopez announced that the brand will introduce three new models throughout the year. These include:
- Sportage Turbo Hybrid
- EV3
- PV5

Morris Garages
Morris Garages (MG) Motor Philippines has unveiled three new nameplates at the 10th PIMS. These are the HS and RX9 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), as well as the MG4 EV Urban.
Notably, these three are all-new models with suggested retail prices set at P1,548,888 for the HS PHEV, P1,998,888 for the RX9 PHEV, and P1,198,888 for the MG4 EV Urban.

Mitsubishi
At the 10th PIMS, Mitsubishi Motor Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has previewed the upcoming Outlander PHEV.
For now, the company has not yet disclosed its specifications, but some details for the Outlander PHEV can already be viewed on the Department of Energy’s list of recognized new energy vehicles.

Nissan
Nissan Motor Philippines Incorporated has debuted the next-generation X-Trail e-POWER at the 10th PIMS.

At maximum, this e-POWER system can generate up to 204 hp and 525 Nm of torque. Pricing for the next-gen Nissan X-Trail e-POWER starts at P2.29 million.
Likewise previewed at the event are the Navara Pro Plug-in Hybrid, Primera EV, and the updated Kicks e-POWER.
Omoda and Jaecoo
The all-new Jaecoo J5 EV has formally debuted for the local market at the 10th PIMS. The model is the all-electric version of the J5 HEV and has a driving range of up to 461 km.

Subaru
Motor Image Pilipinas Incorporated, the local distributor of Subaru products, has debuted the Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid at the 10th PIMS.
With a starting price of P1.998 million, the Subaru Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid can produce up to 153 hp and 196 Nm of torque. It also has an all-wheel-drive system and a comprehensive ADAS suite.

Suzuki
Suzuki Philippines Incorporated has introduced the e Vitara for the local market at the 10th PIMS.
Underpinned by the Heartect-e platform, the e-Vitara produces up to 172 hp and covers up to 475 km on a single full charge.
Pricing for this all-electric crossover starts at P2.02 million.

Tesla
Tesla Philippines is set to integrate xAI’s Grok artificial intelligence as a smart companion on its Model Y and Model 3. This will be rolled out on Tesla rides in the near future, although a timetable has not been announced yet.

Toyota
Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has officially launched three all-new nameplates at the 10th PIMS. These are the Land Cruiser FJ, the Land Cruiser LC300 HEV, and the next-generation Hilux.
Photo by Cesar Guiderone MiguelNotably, the all-new Toyota Hilux received a significant style change and a new battery-electric vehicle variant. For its turbodiesel trims, it now uses only the 2.8-liter GD series engine.
The Land Cruiser FJ, meanwhile, is a five-seater off-road-capable SUV based on the IMV Platform. On the other hand, the Land Cruiser HEV is the electrified version of the LC300 nameplate.
Pricing for the next-generation Toyota Hilux starts at P1.772 million, while the Land Cruiser FJ starts at P2.235 million. The Land Cruiser LC300 HEV, meanwhile, retails at P6.930 million.

VinFast
VinFast Philippines has showcased its electric vehicle (EV) lineup at the 10th PIMS. Given particular focus was the VF MPV 7, which was recently launched by the brand this year.
