2024 Subaru Impreza, Crosstrek receive IIHS Top Safety Pick awards

MANILA: The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has given the 2024 Subaru Impreza a Top Safety Pick+ award and the 2024 Crosstrek a Top Safety Pick award.

The 2023 Top Safety Pick award is given to a vehicle when it gets "Good" ratings in the driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, and updated side tests. All trims must also have "Acceptable" or "Good" headlights, and the daytime vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention system must receive an "Advanced" or "Superior" rating.

All these criteria are also considered for the Top Safety Pick+ award, however, to get this highest recognition, the vehicle’s nighttime vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention must also receive an "Advanced" or "Superior" rating.

Subaru has received a total of seven IIHS Top Safety Pick awards for 2023. Aside from the Crosstrek, the 2024 models of the Forester and Legacy were also hailed as 2023 Top Safety Pick winners.

Meanwhile, the higher Top Safety Pick+ recognition was also given to the 2024 models of the Outback, Ascent (locally known as the Evoltis), and Solterra.

"We are thrilled that seven of our 2024 models received a 2023 IIHS Top Safety Pick award, especially under the new criteria. This is a testament to our commitment of providing customers with vehicles set to the highest safety standards," Subaru of America Incorporated President and Chief Operating Officer Jeff Walters stated.

Since 2013, the Japanese carmaker has earned a total of 70 Top Safety Pick+ awards, more than any other car brand.
