After Toyota Yaris, 2016 Toyota Vios Gets A Heart Replacement

MANILA: So the automobile leader in the Philippines automotive market is all set to bring a revolutionary change in its fleet. Well, Toyota is already into some highly appreciated changes and the most recognized of them are the new faces of Toyota Innova and Fortuner, and now, this time, it is much more than the aesthetics. So, while the aforementioned drives have gone through generations of modifications and the new in tow to receive some updations is the Toyota Vios. The updations are under the hood and the new Toyota Vios is now equipped with Dual VVT-i engine along with a CVT to show added power and efficiency.

The 2016 Toyota Yaris has also got a heart transplant and is now available with NR-series engine. This same engine is given to the 2016 Toyota Vios in 1.3-litre and 1.5-litre capacities. The new engine with 1.3-litre capacity is capable of churning out 99 stallions of peak power at 6000 rpm along with 123 Nm of peak torque at 4200 rpm. Talking about the bigger engine, the 1.5-litre unit, this engine knocks out a maximum power counting to 106 hp at 6000 rpm and a maximum torque of 140 Nm at 4200 rpm. Both of the engines are now mated with CVT with 7 virtual gears to add more thrill, power, and efficiency to the drives.

With this major under the hood change, the Japanese manufacturer has given some minor tweaks at the exterior also, so, the 2016 Vios has now got chrome garnishing on the fog lamps for the G trim. Also, Toyota has introduced 2 new colors – Blackish Red Mica and Alumina Jade Metallic for this stylish sedan. The price for the new model falls between PhP 599,000 and PhP 991,000 across the trims. A total of 9 vibrant and striking colors are now available for the new Vios including the newly introduced 2 colors.

The latest changes will surely help the manufacturer to grab more of the market share which was already 43.4 percent for the mid-year 2016, as declared by CAMPI. Let's wait for the next report to know how well these changes work out for Toyota Philippines!
