All-new 2020 Peugeot 3008 stirs the SUV segment in the Philippines

MANILA: Peugeot, the French car manufacturer, is attempting to gain a foothold in the Philippines’ auto industry by joining in the SUV market segment. The company recently unveiled the all-new Peugeot 3008 Compact SUV.

The Peugeot 3008 exudes distinct elegance and luxurious design, innovative technology, and a robust frame that makes it stand out from the other vehicles in this segment. But what makes 3008 more exciting is beside the 3008 Active Diesel variant, it also released another model of its award-winning SUV—the Peugeot 3008 Active Petrol.

On the outside, the 3008 has a raised radiator grille that gives it a bold, sporty look, while the sleek lines and vertical chrome details make it a real head-turner. At the rear, the gloss black panel incorporates the signature claw effect LED lighting that makes this SUV stand out from the crowd.

Inside, Peugeot does not disappoint. The leather seats and i-Cockpit with a 12.3” instrument panel and 8” mounted infotainment system truly adds to the overall posh riding experience.

The 3008 SUVs are designed with a low center of gravity for stability while maintaining an optimal ground clearance of 219mm. The long wheelbase of the 3008 at 2,675mm makes for a smooth and comfortable driving experience.

Under the hood, Peugeot 3008 Compact SUV variants come in a 6-speed Efficient Automatic Transmission (EAT) and front-wheel drivetrain.

The main difference between the 3008 Active Diesel and 3008 Active Petrol SUV is the engine. The 3008 Active Diesel comes in a 1.6L Turbo High-Pressure Petrol Engine with a displacement of 1,598 cc; a maximum output of 165hp @ 6,000rpm; and 240nm @ 1,400rpm maximum torque. On the other hand, the 3008 Active Petrol SUV variant comes with a 2.0L Blue HDi Diesel Engine with a displacement of 1,997cc; 150hp @ 4,000 rpm maximum output; and a maximum torque of 370nm @ 2,000 rpm.

The Peugeot 3008 Active Diesel carries a price tag of Php 2,090,000, while the 3008 Active Petrol SUV comes with a retail price of Php1,890,000. This makes the Active Petrol the only 3008 model priced under the Php2 million mark.
