Bentley Continental GT takes 2 ‘Best Car’ titles in Europe

MANILA: The Bentley Continental GT has earned two “Best Car” titles in Europe.

According to the carmaker, the Bentley Continental GT won the said honors after two automotive publications in the region — Auto Motor und Sport (Germany) and Auto Illustrierte (Switzerland) — conducted their respective “reader’s poll awards.”

The former’s 48th annual survey revealed that the Bentley Continental GT dominated its luxury import category according to some 92,000 readers. It is a feat accomplished by the said nameplate for three consecutive years.

As for the latter, its survey showed that the Bentley Continental GT won the votes of its readers as the posh grand tourer won against 422 cars — two times in a row.

“The awards serve as a fitting finale for some of the last Continental GT models that have combustion engines,” Bentley said in a press release.

In November last year, Bentley Motors announced that order books for V8 versions of the Continental GT and GTC had closed in Europe.

The move — per the British automobile marque — is in line with the company’s ground-breaking Beyond100 strategy that will see every Bentley model offered with the option of a hybrid variant by 2025.

Now on its third generation, the Bentley Continental GT offers a unique blend of unparalleled touring ability and driver-focused technologies — features cited by readers who participated in the publications’ polls.
