Chery leads CAMPI-TMA PHEV sales in Oct. 2025

MANILA: Chery leads the competition in the country’s plug-in hybrid sales race as far as the joint record of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) are concerned.

Based on a consolidated report, United Asia Automotive Group Incorporated (UAAGI)-led automotive distributor sold a total of 501 units in the first 10 months of 2025 — 217 of which were turned over last October.

The Chinese automaker’s arm in the country said that the figures were driven by the “robust demand for its all-new Tiggo rEV CD-M”, which recently saw the release of its Luxury Edition (LE) variant.

Chery Auto Philippines (CAP) said that more than 81 Tiggo rEV examples were delivered to its respective customers in October — allowing them to corner a market share of above 25 percent in a 20-model contest in the country’s PHEV segment.

Aside from the aforementioned vehicle, the company also attributed its strong performance in the category to the 25-dealer strong network around the country that assures the brand’s presence and guarantees quality aftersales ownership experience.   

Here are some bits of information about the new Chery Tiggo rEV LE.

Vehicle specifications

The seven-seater PHEV is powered by a Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) system that’s compatible with Type 2 and CCS2 charging. It goes in tandem with the 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine mated to a dedicated hybrid transmission that can dish out a peak of 202 horses and 310 Newton-meters of pulling power.

This drivetrain system gives the vehicle an overall range of 1,400 kilometers.

For its interior, the new Chery Tiggo rEV LE is fitted with a pair of digital screens (10.25-inch digital instrument panel and a 15.6-inch floating infotainment display paired with a Sony 12-speaker surround sound system.

Other creature comforts that are made available in the crossover are:

• Wireless Apple CarPlay and Wireless Android Auto connectivity
• Head-up Display
• Ventilated front seats
• Remote engine start with brake pedal trigger
• Smart proximity key access
• Panoramic sunroof
• Retractable flush exterior door handles

It safety technologies complemented its suite of driver assistive technologies that include:

• Adaptive cruise control
• Autonomous emergency braking
• Lane departure warning system
• Rear cross traffic alert
• Blind Spot Monitoring
• 540-degree camera system with dynamic guidelines

Retailed in all Chery dealerships nationwide, the Tiggo rEV LE can be had for P1.528 million.
