Chevron appoints Tangmanuswong as CPI top exec

MANILA: Pongtorn Tangmanuswong has been appointed as the new general manager and country manager for Chevron Philippines Incorporated (CPI).

In a statement, the local marketer for Caltex’s fuels and lubricants shared that the newly-hailed chief replaced Billy Liu, who led CPI for nearly five years. Tangmanuswong’s predecessor will move on to a new role at Chevron’s headquarters in Houston.

Starting his journey with the firm in 2008, Tangmanuswong brings his 17 years of experience with the energy company in leading CPI’s operations across more than 600 Caltex service stations, 450 autoPro workshops, major commercial accounts, and five Chevron proprietary terminals nationwide.

He has also held leadership roles of increasing responsibility from Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Asset Optimization, and Special Projects across Asia-Pacific markets. His recent stint was being the general manager and country chairman of Chevron Cambodia Limited.

For his part, Liu expressed elation over Tangmanuswong’s appointment.

“Khun Bon’s and my terms as general managers of the Cambodian and Philippine offices have coincided. In that time, I saw his ability in delivering growth while putting people and partners at the center of his leadership, I am confident that CPI will continue to thrive under his direction,” he noted.

Per CPI, the leadership transition underscores Chevron’s commitment to strengthening its Philippine operations and supporting the country’s growing demand for reliable and cleaner energy solutions.
