Ford makes amendment for incorrect recall notice to Alex Calleja

MANILA: What would be your reaction if you receive a recall notice regarding a car that you don't even own? You'd be surprised to the core, right? Something very similar happened with Alex Calleja, who got a recall notice from Ford on August 29, 2019, concerning his Everest SUV.

Interestingly enough, the Philippine actor doesn't own a Ford Everest and couldn't take his SUV to get the Takata airbag issue fixed. With a strong social media fanbase, Alex Calleja took the matter to the internet and posted the image of the notice along with a message for the American automaker on his Facebook page.

The post read:

"hi ford philippines,  

nakatanggap ako ng safety recall notice dahil defective daw ang ford ranger/everest ko...nagworry ako dahil wala naman akong ford ranger/everest!  

at ngayon, inaaway ako ng misis ko dahil bakit daw ako may ford ranger/everest na hindi niya alam! baka raw naka-park sa ibang bahay! baka may bahay din daw siyang hindi alam! sa susunod ford philippines, kung sira ang mga unit niyo, wag niyo ng sirain ang buhay ko!  

ngayon natutulog ako sa loob ng honda civic ko!”

When translated to English, the message for Ford says,

“Hi Ford Philippines,

I have received a recall notice for my Ford Ranger/Everest stating my unit has a defect. The notice got me worries as do not own a Ford Ranger/Everest. As a result of the notice, my wife has started arguing with me because I did not tell her that I bought a Ford Ranger/Everest. Now, she thinks that I have put it in another house of mine that she doesn't know about. Ford Philippines if your vehicles have problems, don’t bring those problems in my life. 

Now I’m sleeping inside my Honda Civic."

Following the post made by Alex Calleja on Facebook for Ford, the American automaker apologised to the actor by sending a message. Below is the snapshot of the messaged send by Ford to Alex Calleja.
