French Innovation to Stir The Auto World – Check Out What Peugeot is Up To
MANILA: iPhone, iPod and iPad, you must have heard about these gadgets. Surely, hailing from one of the most prominent American gadget brands makes these devices stand apart from the crowd. The advancement in technology is not restricted to gadgets only and automakers are among the fraternity which is striving hard to deliver something new, something more up to the expectations of the customers or may be more than the expectations of the prospective buyers. The new term which is floating in the headlines is i-Cockpit and believe us, it has nothing to do with the U.S. based gadget company. But, something in the automobile sector is happening on the same line where a French auto company is designing a cockpit filled with amenities and aspects never seen before. A similar attempt by the renowned German brand Audi and Swedish company Volvo has also been made which is still under progression.
So, while the Volvo and Audi have already got their share of the limelight, it's Peugeot now which is flaunting the new cockpit concept i-Cockpit in the auto world. Seems like the French automaker is fascinated with ‘i’ label. Wondering why we said that! Peugeot recently launched the all-new 2016 Expert which is based on the Traveller i-Lab Concept. Just like the Audi's virtual cockpit and Volvo's innovative Glass Cockpit, the i-Cockpit concept has a futuristic approach which would enhance the driving and traveling experience. Guess enough of introduction and now time for action!
Decoding this new cabin concept which is raising the expectations of the customers, the Next-Gen i-Cockpit has some or more features of the latest 208, 308 and 2008 along with some additional aspects. So while the smaller steering is for a precise & quick response, the touch display with 'head-up' instrument unit are borrowed from 208, 308 and 2008. The sleeker and futuristic design of the entire cockpit gives it some freshness with innovation. The new cockpit is loaded with features like 3D navigation, MirrorLink, Android Auto, voice command, Apple Carplay and an 8-inch touch display. The 12.3-inch head up display is now absolutely digital, dropping all the analogue gauges from the instrument cluster, making it driver friendly and gorgeously looking. Since i-Cockpit is not just about technology, comfort is also the foremost concern, Peugeot has given body-hugging seats with full 'sensory experience' multipoint massage facility, chrome toggle switches, fragrance diffuser and chromatic experience for music and lighting.
Peugeot is working on this cockpit concept with more dedication and the customers may find this absolutely inviting Next-Gen i-Cockpit in the upcoming versions of its fleet. The first to have this innovative and well-packed cabin might be the latest version of 3008 SUV which may arrive later this year. Though there is no official confirmation if the new 3008 with i-Cockpit would land on Philippine soil this year, but calculating the average sales of Peugeot in the local market, the manufacturer would surely consider the Philippines automotive market among the priorities. Let's see what boom this new innovation brings to the auto world!
