Geely Coolray worldwide sales near 400,000

MANILA: Two years after its global debut, the Geely Coolray  crossover has sold nearly 400,000 units worldwide.

The Coolray has been a top-selling model since was first introduced in China in 2018. It quickly rose to become one of the top three best-selling compact sports utility models (SUVs) in the Chinese market. In September 2019, the Coolray officially started its global tour, entering the automotive markets of over 10 countries including the Philippines, Russia, and Saudi Arabia, where it immediately captured a large number of local customers.

In most months from 2020 to 2021, the Coolray became a top-seller in its segment in the Philippines. The Coolray also took advantage of the momentum and swiftly established itself at the top of market segments in Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. It also became one of the best-sellers in Belarus almost immediately after its launch, ranking fifth in sales in the local market segment. Its market share hit 35% in the first quarter of 2021, making it the top seller while its popularity continues to grow. In Russia and Saudi Arabia, Geely has recorded a cumulative sales growth of over 230% year-over-year from January to August 2021.

The Coolray has also received numerous awards from different media outlets, including the Best Subcompact Crossover award from Philippines’ C! Magazine. The readers of Russian Auto News also voted the Coolray as the Best Budget Car. In 2020, the Coolray transported the winning team FC BATE Borisov back to their home field with trophy they had won, to the delight of the entire stadium.

The Coolray has been put to the test in different markets and has received acclaim from its users worldwide.
