Pres. Marcos Jr. acknowledges contributions of Japanese firms in state visit
Apart from Toyota, Mitsubishi, other brands with local ops include Isuzu and Honda
MANILA: President Ferdinand Marcos Junior acknowledged the “foundational contributions” of Japanese firms in the Philippines — including Toyota and Mitsubishi — in his recent state visit to the Land of the Rising Sun.

Among the Japanese brands that have steady operations in the Philippines are the automakers’ local subsidiaries, Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP) and Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC).
Both have factories in Santa Rosa, Laguna and produce models that are sold in the archipelago.

Further, MMPC has expressed its intent to manufacture new-energy vehicles locally. Per the brand, the target year is by 2028.

Other Japanese brands in PH
Aside from the abovementioned, there are also several Japanese brands that have manufacturing and assembly businesses in the Philippines.
