Go Further with the Launch of 2015 Ford Ranger Wildtrak
MANILA: The tick-tock has striked right with the launch of the Ford Ranger Wildtrak which can be said a range- topping pick-up truck. It is not only its cool and different signature orange color paint which makes it wilder, but Ford also claims that it is fitted with such new smart technologies that will make you enjoy the journey of wildness.
Exhibiting bolder exterior design, the pick-up has 230 mm of ground clearance and 800 mm of water -wading ability which makes it a perfect beast like any other in the forest. The front has a trapezoidal grill with a dark metallic grey accent, side air vents, wing mirrors, hefty bumper, and rectangular fog lamps. The roof rails on top and 18-inch alloy wheels at bottom not only make it look sturdy but actually make it one.
The interiors of this Wildtrak are calm and comfortable as the seats have black and orange semi-leather upholstery with orange stitches and the eight-way power adjustable option for driver's seat. It is further equipped with the latest generation of Ford's in-car connectivity system, SYNC 2, a dual-TFT instrument cluster, an eight-inch touchscreen, a 240-volt power socket and an instrument panel with delicate touch of orange accent. The bunch of driver assist technologies include the adaptive cruise control system, lane keeping alert, tire pressure monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors with rear view camera hill assist control, forward alert system, and electronic stability program, are just a few from the list.
Under the bonnet of the beast lies its power plant, the 3.2-liter Duratorq five-cylinder TDCi diesel engine that gives the power of 200 PS and torque of 470 Nm. The engine is mated with six-speed automatic transmission and further comes with upgraded exhaust gas recirculation (ERC) which would improve fuel economy by up to 18 %. Ford has not yet confirmed the availability of its 2.2-liter Duratorq TDCi engine for this new launch.
“We wanted to push the Wildtrak’s orange further, to give it a fun, tough feeling. We call it Pride Orange, not just because of our pride in the new Ranger, but also because it calls to mind a pride of lions – it conjures up the Wildtrak’s potential and adventurous spirit,” said Dave Dewitt, exterior design manager for the Ranger Wildtrak.
With all this, it can be said that the tyre marks of Wildtrack will give a tough fight to other pickups on the sand of forests. So, the adventure awaits in the pride orange Wildtrak!
