Hennessey VelociRaptor 6x6 takes hardcore off-roader to next level

MANILA: The most recent third-generation Ford F-150 has been modified by Texas-based hypercar and high-performance vehicle manufacturer Hennessey into the Hennessey VelociRaptor 6x6 — a pickup truck with incredible capability and six-wheel drive that can travel anywhere.

The improvements and adjustments go well beyond merely adding a third set of wheels. To ensure the truck rules both on- and off-road, Hennessey engineers fitted the VelociRaptor 6x6 with an advanced Fox suspension and twin locking rear axles, which add an amazing 50% greater tractive grip. The VelociRaptor's increased, turbocharged power plant, which generates 558 horsepower and 672 lb-ft of torque, ensures that its power fits its enormous size. 

With its imposing stance, the Hennessey VelociRaptor 6x6 design is substantially longer than the stock Ford F-150 Raptor it is based upon. An expansive 8-foot (2.4 meters) long load bed that boasts 45 percent more volume than the basic 5.5-foot (1.67 meters) bed may be fitted thanks to the extension.

The VelociRaptor has also been lifted by Hennessey to be several inches taller than stock thanks to a three-inch lift, updated Hennessey 20-inch wheels, and strong 37-inch off-road tires.

Ford's twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine's performance was improved by Hennessey engineers through improved air induction, a high-capacity intercooler with a blow-off valve, and an improved engine-management system.
