Honda City facelift made its debut in Thailand

MANILA: This is it! Honda City facelift has finally made its debut in Thailand with a few nips and tucks. So let’s see what the updated sedan is offering.

Exterior Styling

 

The front fascia has received a major update which now features a new set of headlamps, accompanied with a slimmer chrome radiator grille. Even the front bumper is redesigned with a new set of fog light. The 2017 Honda City gets daytime-running LEDs as standard along with the option of LED headlamps and LED foglights. 

The overall design is further accentuated with the addition of 16-inch alloy wheels with a multi-spoke design. The rear bumper reflects the honeycomb effect while the taillights have been kept unchanged.

The Cabin

There are no significant changes in the cabin apart from the touchscreen, which has been updated with a few minor changes. The infotainment system is now compatible with both Android and iOS phones. The cabin also gets LED map and interior lights.

Engine

The changes are only limited to exterior styling and the cabin. The City continues to offer the same powertrain options - a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol mill with 5-speed manual or CVT and the other is 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine with 6-speed manual gearbox only.

Safety

The updates in the safety package include dual front + side and curtain airbags, vehicle stability assist (VSA) and a multi-angle rearview camera.

This is just the beginning and Honda will introduce more new models in the global market this year. One of the much-awaited models is the Honda WR-Z, whose sketches and details were revealed a few days back. The 2017 Honda City has started its journey in Thailand and let’s see when the Philippines launch takes place.
