Honda Philippines opens up about its all-new Civic

MANILA: Honda Philippines has finally revealed the much awaited Civic specs on its official site on February 15. The Japanese automaker has also hinted towards the upcoming launch of all-new Civic. Recently, Honda Philippines posted a teaser video of this sedan on its twitter page which came as a confirmation of its launch. The much hyped 10th generation Civic has been tweaked towards its exterior and interior along with more powerful engines.

Beneath the hood, the new Civic would be integrated with a turbocharged 1.8-litre engine that churns out a maximum power of 172 ps along with a peak torque of 220 Nm. This comes after the automaker confirmed that 2016 Honda Civic would be featuring a Turbocharged VTEC engine. Moreover, it is mated with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) which is a part of the Honda's very own Earth Dream Technology.

In Philippines, Honda Civic would be made available in two variants namely 1.8E and RS Turbo variant. After Honda Mobilio, it would be second vehicle in the Honda Cars Philippines lineup to be employed with the Road Sailing (RS) design. Under this design, the car has been given a sporty look towards the exterior to further accentuate its aggressive feel. The automaker has blessed this car with an aerodynamic body with its shortened front overhang along with low and wide stance. Towards the exterior, it features an aggressive grille along with LED headlights and daytime running lights. Further, the exterior colour palette includes six different shades namely Cosmic Blue Metallic, Midnight Burgundy Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, White Orchid Pearl, Modern Steel Metallic, and Rallye Red.

In 2016, Honda Philippines is all set to expand its model lineup with two more cars namely Honda Pilot and Honda BR-V. But once the new Civic gets launched in the Philippines, it would be giving a tough competition to Hyundai Elantra and Toyota Corolla Altis.
