Hyundai Accent 2019 - What makes it a good buy?
Hyundai gave us a surprise by showcasing the all-new Accent 2019 at the KLIMS (Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show) 2018, and soon after the car made its way to the Philippines. It was officially launched in the country in early December 2018. We were looking forward to the new Accent coming to our shores because it looked quite promising when showcased at the Motor Show. It has been almost a couple of months now since the Accent’s official launch. So, let’s have a talk about some of its features that make it a good buy.
Fascinating and premium looks
This is one of the main reasons why you should consider the all-new Accent 2019, and Hyundai is well aware of it. Yes, it’s true that the Accent looks similar to the Hyundai Elantra, but in a way that’s a good thing. Hyundai has played it really smart by going ahead with this design. The Elantra is a more premium car and hence comes with a higher price tag. With the new Accent, Hyundai has opened gates for people who couldn’t afford or didn’t want to spend a big amount on a car, but still wants to have a premium one.
The front of the new Accent features large projector headlamps with a strip of LED daytime running lights. These, along with the large and beautiful chrome grille, make the car look very premium. We also have chrome fog lamps surrounds. The side view of the Accent is also great thanks to the subtle character lines and the stylish alloy wheels. Moving to the rear, the two-piece combination tail lamps have become a signature for the Hyundai sedans. The tailgate is a bit high from the ground making the car look bigger than it actually is. The new Accent is definitely the best-looking car in its segment and this will annoy its competitors like the Toyota Vios, Mazda 2 Sedan, Honda City.
Engine options
A large portion of the Hyundai Accent 2019 specs sheet is taken by the description of the engines. This is because there are two engine options available. There’s a 1.4-litre MPI dual CVVT petrol mill which churns out 100 PS of max power and a peak torque of 132 Nm. The other engine is slightly more powerful. It’s a 1.6-litre CRDi engine which produces 128 PS of power and 260 Nm of torque. So, you get both petrol and diesel engine options. By the way, both of them come with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options.
Comfortable interiors with decent features
The interior of the new Hyundai Accent is quite comfortable. The seats are nice, there is a good amount of space to move around. And the suspension is also tuned to prioritize comfort.
To keep the price in check, Hyundai has kept the list of features to a minimum. Yes, it is a bit odd to say this because usually, Hyundai cars are feature-laden cars, but not in this case. This doesn’t mean that the Accent is a total waste. There are a few necessary features available like power side mirrors, power windows, 3.8-inch LCD non-touch display with radio and AUX and USB support, manual AC, etc.
Price and variants
Hyundai Accent 2019 price starts at Php 695,000 for the base model and goes all the way up to Php 930,000. So, by cutting on various features, Hyundai has managed to give the new Accent this price range. You can buy the variant as per your requirements. And all the variants get the same stylish and dynamic fluidic design.
So, these were some of the features that make the new Hyundai Accent 2019 a good buy. Yes, Hyundai has left out on a number of things like interior and safety features, but it was done to make the car available to a larger group of people. If Hyundai could have provided a few more basic features at this exact price, then it would have been even better. But anyway, it is still a good car. You can buy the Accent in any of the 5 different colors - Star Dust, Phantom Black, Sleek Silver, Fiery Red, and Polar White.
