Hyundai art cars head to Paris to promote Busan’s bid for 2030 World Expo

MANILA: Hyundai Motor Group continues its campaign to promote South Korean city of Busan’s bid to host the 2030 World Expo by displaying art cars in Paris, France, where the headquarters of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) is located.

10 Hyundai art cars are driven by the Korean delegation at the Busan Expo Symposium and K-Pop concert that happens in Paris until Sunday. The fleet includes the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6.

The art cars were decorated with graffiti artwork by Korean artist Jay Flow, featuring the iconic Busan imagery, such as seagulls, ocean waves, and the Gwangan Bridge, as well as the statement “Busan is ready.”

Hyundai’s art cars also visited the famous landmarks in Paris, such as the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum.

The symposium will present Busan’s strengths and capabilities to key officials of BIE member countries to help increase the city’s appeal as a potential host of the 2030 World Expo. While the Korean delegation makes its case at the symposium, the art cars will promote Busan’s vision to the tourists outside the venue.

Hyundai Motor Group has previously shown its support to Busan’s bid by wrapping vehicles with the Busan World Expo logo and promotional phrases at the 172nd General Assembly of the BIE in Paris in June and the Davos Forum in Switzerland in January. The art cars also toured around key global cities like New York, New Delhi, and Jakarta to gain more public interest in the campaign.
