Is this the upcoming Porsche Macan EV? 

MANILA: While waiting for its official launch later tonight, supposedly leaked photos of the second-generation Porsche Macan have surfaced online.

Two photos were posted at the Porsche EV Forum allegedly showing the latest version of the crossover’s latest version a few hours before its scheduled reveal. The world premiere will be held in Singapore today.

Should the photos be true, then the soon-to-be-revealed model maintains the same design language with a few updates here and there.

Relatedly, the outgoing version might be the nameplate’s “swan song” to the internal combustion engine.

Among the differences at the fore between the upcoming and the current Porsche Macan is the shape of the headlamps. Compared to the oval-shaped of the outgoing version, the new Porsche could be having a larger and square-ish look. Since the model shown at the site is supposedly the electric vehicle iteration, the model had lesser air vents. The fog lamp housings seem to have remained the same.

The flow of the side appears to look the same but the wheel design of the version in the photo seems to be different from the departing version.

At the rear, the presumed new Porsche Macan sports a new lower bumper design. Instead of a mesh-type layout, the new vehicle is expected to have a horizontal line pattern.

No photos of the cabin were shared.

Earlier, Porsche has put the Macan — the company’s first model built on the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) — through its paces — covering more than 3.5-million test kilometers on tracks and public roads.

Per the Stuttgart-headquartered marque, the electric motors in the new Macan are powered by a lithium-ion battery in the underbody, with a gross capacity of 100 kilowatt-hour (kWh)— of which up to 95 kWh can be actively used.
