Isuzu D-Max facelift to make its debut by late 2018

MANILA: Isuzu will soon launch a facelift of its D-Max pickup. It has not been long that the pickup underwent changes, but those were entirely technical updates. The upcoming facelift will include several cosmetic upgrades, including exterior makeup along with interior revamp.

Isuzu brings in the more powerful 3.0-litre turbo diesel mill for powering the facelift version. It will be capable of producing 177 PS of power and 380 Nm of maximum torque. It should be mentioned here that the current 2.5-litre turbo diesel churns out 136 PS of maximum power and 320 Nm of highest torque. A five-speed manual and switchable 4WD system will complete the package.

The exteriors will feature a slightly redesigned chrome grille at the front. With 18-inch newly designed alloy wheels, D-max is likely to get a 'hunk' like look. While the projector headlamps will be retained, a new L-shaped LED DRL strip running along the edge of the headlamp clusters will be added. The front skid plate will be carried forward from the ongoing Isuzu D-Max. The front bumper will be reshaped as well.

A special upholstery is expected to give the interior a more premium stance along with a new 8-inch touchscreen display and a well-developed navigation system.

The new D-Max will also be loaded with additional safety features among which are a total of 6 airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), brake assist, electronic stability control (ESC), hill start assist (HSA), and hill descent control (HDC) with reverse parking camera. It will also get a brown trim on the dashboard. The door panels, instrument cluster, and MID will be among the new additions.

The 3-spoke steering wheel will be covered in leather with Isuzu badge; it will house an audio and a cruise control switch. Inside features which will surely attract the buyers are Piano black trims, ample use of leather and front-row bucket seats.

The Isuzu D-Max 2018 facelift price in the Philippines, could potentially be Php 4,679 - Php 46,791 more than the outgoing model.

The pickup is expected to be offered in three new attractive colors by the end of this year. We have to wait for more updates from official sources regarding this, including its date of launch in the Philippines. We are hopeful that the new Isuzu D-Max facelift version will be worth the wait!
