Isuzu PH updates mu-X

MANILA: Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has launched the updated iteration of the mu-X.

The 2024 model year sport utility vehicle (SUV) — the local wing of the Japanese car brand pointed out — is a “flawless combination of robust engineering and exclusive design.” Poised to “take the lead” in the segment, this latest iteration also looks to “redefine the standards for safety, convenience, and driving pleasure.”

Improved safety, smart driving experience

Per IPC, one of the important updates to the mu-X includes its bolstered list of safety features. The nameplate’s 2024 model is equipped with an innovative around-view monitor. The state-of-the-art system uses multiple cameras strategically positioned around the vehicle to provide drivers with a 360-degree view of the SUV to reduce blind spots and aid in safer navigation through tight spaces and during parking maneuvers.

In addition, the new Isuzu mu-X introduces a digital video recorder with the capability to record continuously for up to 11 hours on a 64GB microSD card. This industry-first feature — the company noted — ensures enhanced security and peace of mind for the would-be owners of the mu-X.

Overall, the two aforementioned features are expected to appeal to drivers and car buyers who value security and sophistication in their vehicle of choice.

Enhanced convenience

On top of leveling up the Isuzu mu-X’s safety features, the company also brought its convenience offerings up a notch.

The new Isuzu mu-X packs a 10.1-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The said display can be used not just for music and podcasts but also for navigation, and more.

Further, Isuzu slapped the new mu-X with a wireless charging pad, which ensures that its owners’ smartphones are powered up on the go without the need to plug in wires, which could both be annoying and distracting.

In general, the wireless connectivity features now offered by the Isuzu mu-X make the driving and riding experience for its owners more seamless.

A familiar force

Powering the updated Isuzu mu-X is the brand’s reliable 4JJ3-TCX 3.0-liter Blue Power engine, allowing the SUV to deliver approximately 187 horsepower with 450 Newton-meters of torque. This familiar force gives those sitting behind the wheel confidence on the road and the power needed to reach their destinations.

“Its exceptional durability and fuel efficiency make it the perfect companion for both the urban landscape and rugged terrain, appealing to the adventurous spirit of luxury buyers and business professionals alike,” Isuzu Philippines Corporation wrote in a press release.

Commitment to excellence

Isuzu’s dedication to safety is further underscored by the vehicle’s Five-Star Safety rating awarded by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations’ New Car Assessment Program. The said honor was due to the mu-X’s comprehensive advanced driver assist system with smart duo camera.

That said, the Isuzu mu-X is seen as an SUV that can lead its segment in safety and technology.

“The new Isuzu mu-X is a statement of pride and pleasure in ownership, designed to inspire and empower its customers to explore endless horizons,” IPC President Tetsuya Fujita stated.

“With its perfect blend of safety, convenience, and performance, the mu-X is set to continue Isuzu’s legacy of excellence and innovation,” he added.
