JAC PH opens pre-order books for Ytterby

MANILA: JAC (Jianghuai Automobile Group Corporation) Philippines has opened the reservation books for the all-new Ytterby, the company announced on its Facebook page.

In a statement, JAC Cars Philippines is offering the upcoming electrified hatchback’s top-of-the-line trim (set to be revealed on September 27) — at a special rate of P1.295 million. It will be available in JAC dealerships starting the launch date.

Vehicle specifications

The all-new JAC Ytterby's "Bubble Aesthetics” design gives the vehicle rounded and soft contours complemented by a comfortable cabin. It comes with a 1,450-mm panoramic skylight, tri-color petal wheels, and hidden door handles, and electronically-folding exterior mirrors.

Offered in two variations namely the Air 405 and Lux Pro 505, the all-new JAC Ytterby is powered by electrics that differ in output — with the former capable of delivering 94 horses (hp) and 135 Newton-meters (Nm) and the latter, 134 hp and 175 Nm.

Their battery capacities also vary as the JAC Ytterby’s base model can store energy of up to 41 kilowatt-hours (kWh) and the other, as much as 51.5 kWh. The name of the variants also suggests their range as the Air 405 can cover up to 405 kilometers (km), while the Lux Pro extends to 505 km (based on China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle standards).

The all-new JAC Ytterby features a nine-in-one electric drive system, which combines motor, reducer, drive motor controller, high-voltage power distribution, and ACDC (alternating current and direct current), resulting in a 40-percent weight reduction and 94 percent improvement in terms of efficiency.

Per JAC Philippines, the aforementioned powertrain design produces 10-kWh energy consumption per 100 km and  gives trunk space comparable to larger battery- or internal-combustion-engine-powered (ICE) models.

In addition, the car's battery can juiced up from 30 to 80 percent in just 30 minutes using a DC charger. On the other hand, a seven-kilowatt home charging system takes 7.5 to nine hours, depending on the variant chosen.

Further, the all-new JAC Ytterby is outfitted with a zero thermal runaway honeycomb battery, six airbags, and three-in-one intelligent braking system — with the higher-tiered option slapped with Level 2 driver Assisted Driving technologies.

JAC Philippines Brand Head Tonette Lee noted that the all-new Ytterby offers exceptional value compared to other compact EV and ICE vehicles in its segment — claiming that it provides “long-term savings on fuel and maintenance costs.”

Available in Beige, Purple, Blue, White, and Gray, the all-new JAC Ytterby can be had at the following price points:

• Air 405: P1.195 million
• Lux Pro 505: P1.32 million
