LA Auto Show Gets the Taste of Mazda Luxury, Mazda CX-9 showcased

MANILA: Mazda unveiled its latest creation CX-9 at the ongoing LA Auto Show this morning. Before its LA debut the 2016 Mazda CX-9 was teased by Mazda itself, wherein the company showed its bold and stylish looks. The vehicle occupying the center stage carried Mazda's famous Kodo design language and will come as a fresh change over the ten-year-old ongoing model.

The CX-9 is already present in the Philippines auto market and is available with a whopping Mazda price tag starting from PhP 1.998M. The next-generation Mazda will come with a raised price tag and for now will restrict its sales to the U.S market. The IHS automotive forecasts that the Mazda CX-9 global sales will account to 75% in the U.S alone. As for the price hike, it is justified with the long list of advancements made by Mazda.

Stephanie Brinley, an IHS analyst said, “Mazda’s recent model updates have been largely successful, offering a distinct blend of style, sporty nature and reliability, Mazda doesn’t lead in any particular technology area, but most of its products offer a more engaging experience than competitors.”

Now let's have a look what all is new the 2016 Mazda CX-9 :

• Exterior arena now gets a wider bumper, Mazda's distinct grille, sleek set of headlights and taillights, restyled alloy wheels, rear spoiler, shark-fin antenna, and dual exhaust pipe.
• Interior cabin space now gets dual tone trim with some copper and wooden accents. In addition, CX-9 features a stylish steering wheel with all utility buttons, Human Machine Interface information system, and Auburn Nappa leather seat.
• Engine specs now replace the old 3.7L power mill with a smaller 2.5L engine that generates 230 PS of power and 420 Nm of torque. Also, the mill comes coupled with a 6-speet AT that would drive a 4WD.
• Never seen before features include, 24kg of sound deadening material, Dynamic Pressure Turbo, and Exhaust Gas Recirculation system.
