Lexus 2015 IS 200t Gets Swifter

MANILA: The compact executive car market is roaring and probably aware by this fact, the Japanese brand, Lexus has initially revealed the facelifted IS and now gives it a new engine under the hood. It is the same engine which is found in the Lexus NX and RX as well.

It is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 245 PS of power at 5800 rpm and 350 Nm of torque in between 1650 and 4400 rpm. Lexus says that this engine offers “superior smoothness and responsiveness, with no turbo-lag.” Power is sent to rear corners through an 8-speed automatic transmission controlled by shift paddles. Lexus claims that it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7 seconds and can reach the top speed of 230 km/h. The most important criteria, the fuel economy reads at 33.6 mpg. More about the engine, it feature Dual VVT-iW, D-4ST fuel injection technology, a four-into-two exhaust manifold, and water-cooled cylinder head.

The 200t is different from IS 250 in terms of small fog lamps and 17-inch alloy wheels. With promises like “no turbo-lag" and "high fuel efficiency” along with “instantaneous torque” and “a better turbo sound”, the latest IS 200t is scheduled to go on sale across the European market, by this coming September. For Philippines market, it may take little longer but we are sure that this beloved brand will again stand by its words like always.
