Maserati Grecale SUV Graces PH Shores, With Mild-Hybrid and 530-hp V6 In Tow

MANILA: The Maserati Grecale was just introduced in the Philippines by Maserati and their distributor, Modena Motorsports Inc.

The Gregale, or Grecale in Italian, is a north-easterly Mediterranean wind. The firm has a practice of naming its vehicles after the most well-known winds in the globe. With the iconic Mistral, everything started in 1963. Khamsin, Ghibli, and Bora would all come after. The Trident brand's first SUV, the Levante, debuted in 2016.

The 2023 Maserati Grecale GT, which has a four-cylinder mild hybrid engine that can produce 300 horsepower, and the potent Trofeo, which has a highly effective 3.0L 530-hp petrol V6 based on the Nettuno engine used in the MC20, will both be released at launch. The Modena versions will be available for indent ordering and have a four-cylinder, 330-hp mild hybrid engine.

The PrimaSerie Launch Edition, a limited edition with exclusive extras, is also offered for the 2023 Maserati Grecale. The Grecale Folgore, a 100% electric variant with 400V technology, completes the line.

The MC20 introduced a brand-new design that the Maserati Grecale has since interpreted in the spirit of innovation and scaled down to fit the needs of an SUV.

Similar to the MC20, the Grecale has been modified for an SUV's needs such that it now has a vertical rather than a horizontal aspect. The flow of the vehicle's sides from the bonnet to the back was given a lot of thought in order to emphasize its athletic appearance. The Grecale's technological features are highlighted by the addition of carbon fiber. The boomerang tail lights at the back, which were modeled after the Giugiaro 3200 GT, have a distinctively Maserati design with trapezoidal lines.

Inside the 2023 Maserati Grecale, cutting-edge technical features and the design's simplicity are evident. The vehicle has four screens in total, including the traditional instrument cluster, the new 12.3-inch central panel, a smaller 8.8-inch comfort panel with additional functions, and the new digital clock.

The design is simplified and the buttons from the central panel are eliminated, making room for the roomy armrest, the enormous storage compartment with twin butterfly doors, and the place for charging mobile devices. The materials and finishes draw attention to the aesthetic simplicity: the dashboard stitching adopts a double saddle design, providing consistency with the Levante, the other SUV in the Maserati lineup. The center panel and doors, meanwhile, have genuine material components.

Maserati Twin Combustion (MTC) technology, which originally appeared on the Nettuno engine, is the basis for the Grecale's six-cylinder, three-liter twin-turbo engine. Cylinder deactivation is a feature of this engine, which has had its technology entirely overhauled and improved. Even though it offers excellent performance, the technology used drives consumption down to subcompact levels and greatly lowers CO2 emissions.

The 2023 Maserati Grecale's hybrid model combines a 48-volt mild hybrid system with a four-cylinder internal combustion engine. A Belt Starter Generator (BSG), a 48-V battery, an e-Booster, and a DC/DC converter make up the Maserati hybrid system.

The Grecale has five various drive modes, including COMFORT, GT, SPORT, CORSA, and OFF-ROAD, to enhance the driving experience and let the driver customize the vehicle to meet their demands. On the Grecale Trofeo, air suspension is a standard feature; it is an option on Mild Hybrid models. The drive mode that is being employed has a direct impact on the height of the air springs. The entire excursion of the air suspension is 65 mm.
