Described as a “redefined Grand Limousine,” the Three-Pointed Star marque’s premium eight-seater is built on the newly developed modular, flexible, and scalable Van Architecture—combining the limousine-like driving comfort and handling with the multi-purpose vehicle’s spaciousness, and flexibility.
“The all-new electric VLE marks the next significant milestone in our successful 140-year automotive history. Shaped by our pioneering spirit, it redefines the notion of space and comfort, and adds a game-changing level of versatility and innovation. It also offers a class-leading range of more than 700 km,” Mercedes-Benz Group AG Chairman of the Board of Management Ola Källenius was quoted as saying.
“The VLE is the first model to be built on the new Van Architecture, designed to meet a wide range of customer needs and adapt to any lifestyle,” the executive added.

Here’s what the Mercedes-Benz VLE comes with.
Vehicle specifications
Up front, the vehicle wears the iconic grille design with an illuminated frame and a light strip connecting the headlamps. It also features star-shaped daytime running lights with digital light and a standing star on the bonnet or an integrated central star (depending on the trim).
Sporting a low, streamlined silhouette and iconic aesthetics, the all-new Mercedes-Benz VLE boasts a 0.25 drag coefficient. Its roofline is tautly stretched, going all the way to the rounded rear fitted with arc-design taillights and an aerodynamic spoiler lip.
Inside the VLE are manually operated seats with four integrated wheels, allowing them to be moved back and forth or removed for more luggage space. Meanwhile, the electronically adjustable chairs can be easily altered using the app and head unit.
The electric Grand Comfort Seat provides utmost comfort as it is equipped with an additional pillow, wireless charging, lumbar support, massage function, and calf support.
Hidden in the headliner above the front seats is a retractable, 31.3‑inch panoramic screen with 8K resolution that boasts a split-screen function and an eight-megapixel camera.
Other creature comforts include:
- Panoramic glass roof
- Electric sunblind
- Ambient lighting system
- Three screens behind a large glass surface (10.25‑inch driver display, 14‑inch central display, and 14‑inch front passenger screen)
- Electric sliding doors with hands-free functionality and fully retractable windows
Users can also benefit from the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS) that has the latest MBUX technology and takes advantage of a multi-agent generative artificial intelligence to understand complex conversations. The system can add new features using over-the-air updates.
Its air suspension with 40-millimeter level control ensures a serene ride, while the seven-degree rear-axle steering gives a curb-to-curb turning radius of 10.9 meters.
Additionally, the vehicle is outfitted with standard Distance Assist as well as the optional Driver Assist (which adds semi-autonomous steering) and Lane Change Assist.
Powering the vehicle is its electric drive unit mated to a 4Matic all-wheel-drive system that can dish out more than 402 horsepower with a battery-to-wheel efficiency of up to 93 percent. It also comes with all-wheel-drive trims and has the capability to tow equipment as heavy as 2.5 tons.
“The all-new VLE marks the beginning of a new era for Mercedes-Benz. It brings everything our customers know and love to a new level. Combining MPV-like versatility with limousine-like driving comfort and an immersive spatial experience, it’s unlike any other vehicle with up to eight seats. The electric VLE will delight customers worldwide because it’s as diverse as they are,” Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans Thomas Klein mentioned.
Currently, the Mercedes-Benz VLE is only available in Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, South Korea, Japan, and the United States.
