MG to introduce P9 to PH market?

MANILA: Aside from TRQ, MG (Morris Garages) Motor Philippines might also introduce the P9 pick-up truck within the latter part of 2025.

This, as the Land Transportation Office (LTO) recently released a paperwork that states notable facts about a registered pick-up truck.

Here’s what would-be customers will get should the SAIC Motor Philippines-led distributor decide to sell the vehicle (which is said to be adapted from the  Maxus Interstellar).

Based on the documentation, the MG P9 measures:

Further, it sits on 18-inch wheels wrapped in 265/65 tires.

Powering the vehicle is a 2.5-liter diesel engine that allows the vehicle to run as fast as 180 kilometers per hour.

Checking SAIC Motors’ offerings abroad, the abovementioned numbers resemble to the MG U9, which will arrive in Autralia next month.

There, the said engine — which also runs in four-wheel-drive configuration — can dish out the following numbers:

Peak torque (in Newton-meters)	520

This powertrain is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Aside from that, the LTO-approved pick-up truck is probably the model’s base trim in the Land Down Under.
