MIAS 2017: Volvo S90 showcased

MANILA: The flagship sedan of the Swedish automaker has made its way to the ongoing MIAS 2017 and attracting the eyeballs in a significant manner. The all-new S90 is the second model in the company’s lineup to be based on the company’s ‘Scalable Product Architecture’ (SPA) platform which is also the base of Volvo XC90.

At the event, Volvo has showcased the D4 trim of S90 which features concave waterfall grille, “Thor’s Hammer” LED daytime running lights which are integrated into the sharp headlights.The sedan also features its signature shoulder line which is one of the signature features of the company. At the back, the C-shaped taillights, distinct trunk lid, and raked windshield accentuate the overall design in a significant manner. The inclusion of 20-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels and dual exhaust pipes blend the sporty character into a premium package smoothly.

In the cabin, the leather, wood and metal inserts give plush feel while the flat dashboard and upright air vents are borrowed from the XC90. The tablet-inspired touch screen and structured instrument panel which features dual gauge cluster, multi-information display, and other vehicle-related information further add to the driver convenience.

Volvo S90 D4 Engine

Under the hood, the Volvo S90 D4 trim is powered by a 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine which delivers 193 PS maximum power and 400 Nm peak torque. The engine is further coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
