MIAS 2024: Nissan previews Ariya to PH

MANILA: Nissan Philippines gave the public a preview of arriving the Ariya at the Manila International Auto Show 2024.

Per Nissan, the teased electrified crossover comes with improved technology that has been pioneered in the Leaf — introducing a new chapter in new energy mobility.

The vehicle, which is built on a dedicated electric vehicle (EV) platform, the Nissan Ariya follows the Timeless Japanese Futurism design philosophy — conveying the vehicle's Japanese DNA in a simple yet powerfully modern way.

Inside, the Nissan Ariya boasts a lounge-like cabin with minimalist design, thanks to its zero-gravity seats and flat open floor. The dashboard has an integrated display interface made up of two12.3-inch screens to display driving information and control vehicle functions.

Primary climate functions are incorporated into the wooden center.

The Nissan Ariya is powered by the e-4ORCE AWD powertrain composed of dual electric motors with a maximum output of nearly 389 horsepower and 600 Newton-meters of torque.

The mill is connected to an 87-kilowatt hour battery that lets the vehicle cover more than 500 kilometers and can be charged from 30 percent to 80 percent in as fast as 30 minutes.

Per Nissan, the low placement of the battery in the chassis translates to improved handling with its low center of gravity.

Further, the Ariya is packed with a full suite of the marque’s driver assistive technologies that include the Nissan Safety Shield and Propilot 2.0.

"The Ariya previews the exciting technologies we can expect to see from Nissan's vehicles in the near future. It is a perfect embodiment of Nissan's concept for the future of electrified mobility, translated into reality." Nissan Philippines stated in a press release.

Pricing and other pertinent details have yet to be shared as of press time.

Aside from the Ariya, customers can also check Nissan’s other high-performance offerings, namely the Z and GT-R. A driving simulator is also available for visitors to virtually experience the thrill of Nissan's fully-electric Formula E race car.

Further, an Urvan GX camper concept is being displayed to highlight the versatility and reliability of Nissan vehicles — a legacy that was carried over from the Patrol. The Urvan GX shares its features and dimensions with the Urvan Premium — but without the rear seats.
