Mitsubishi produces more than 600k vehicles in August 2024 YTD

MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has produced a total of 621,062 vehicles in January-August 2024. 

The said figure comes from a report posted by the Japanese brand on its official website. Out of the cumulative production total for the first eight months of 2024, 305,971 units were produced by the brand’s overseas plants. A total of 315,091, meanwhile, were built by its Japan-based facilities. 

For August 2024 alone, the Japanese carmaker made a total of 66,637 vehicles. Overseas production within the month was tallied at 36,614 units, while domestically made units for August reached a count of 30,023. 

Exports

Additionally, the Minato-based car company has exported a total of 152,163 units in January-August 2024. Exports for August 2024 alone, meanwhile, reached a total of 18,639 units. 

Sales

Mitsubishi didn’t provide any figures for global cumulative sales for January-August 2024, but it saw a total of 76,519 sold in Japan within the said period. Out of the aforementioned number, 48,504 units were minicars (kei class cars). 

In the context of the local market, the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Incorporated (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) previously reported that Mitsubishi Philippines was able to sell 58,513 vehicles in the first eight months of 2024. The said figure is equivalent to a 19.20 percent market share.
